I just returned from Cuba with a full up-date and a new three phase construction & renovation plan for the rear yard area. The rear yard is an unsafe area that is presently being used for play and recreation. There is no “school yard patio” area for any sports or social events. It has been agreed with Felipe, Leticia and myself that the first phase will be to clean up the yard area, then the leveling of the area, then the pouring of a lot of cement for a full pad. This will involve a work crew and some heavy equipment. The second phase will be to level the entire area and lay a cement pad. The final phase will be to make a covered area for social time, along with a play area and a larger sports area such as basketball, etc. the estimated cost over one year is about $5000 Cuc.
** Up-Date: Work crews have been hired to begin the clean up and excavating. We are also searching for heavy equipment in clearing the area of large rocks and an old foundation and preparing it for a cement pad. Work has begun to clean and level the entire area. Cement is being ordered and a crew is being hired to assist in the relocation of a water tank, water lines and power lines. The Cisterns need to be repaired and a new water pump has been ordered.
** Up Date… The entire roof is now fully sealed and repaired. With your valued help, no more leaks! Felipe said that they now have a collection of pails that were previously used to collect rain drops coming through the roof.
